In recent months, life has become difficult for many French people. And for good reason, rising prices spare no one. Some will still find a smile thanks to the revaluation of the Smic, Livret A, pensions…
France hit by rising prices
Many French people, for example who receive the minimum wage, have struggled to make ends meet since the rise in prices has affected the country. Gasoline, groceries, inflation affects many sectors. After the health crisis, it is the war in Ukraine that disrupts the daily lives of households.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has a real impact on life in Europe, and even in some parts of the world. If the word “economic crisis” is not established, inflation is indeed there.
Our colleagues from the media Planet have also confided, according to figures from INSEE: “After a rate of 4.8% in April and 5.2% in May, consumer prices finally increased by 5.8% in one year in the month of June 2022″.
Before adding that France had not experienced such a level of inflation since November 1985. Revaluations on the Smic, the Livret A and pensions will still happen. And the French will be able to find their smile once more.
The government is working on many points
On July 7, the Council of Ministers unveiled a brand new bill. Several texts have been studied, particularly on the subject of the Smic, by the Ministry of Economy to make life easier for many households.
Below, the points studied by the ministry:
– Maintenance of the tariff shield on energy prices
– Revaluation of the activity bonus, pensions and social benefits
– Exceptional back-to-school food aid
– Help for students
– Limitation of the increase in rents and end of the audiovisual license fee
– Increase in the exceptional purchasing power bonus
– Lower social security contributions for the self-employed
– Revaluation of the index point of public officials
While waiting to learn more regarding the study of these points, be aware that several revaluations will arrive from August. Initially, it is the SMIC which, for the 4th time in less than a year, will be upgraded.
The Student revealed that the Hourly minimum wage should drop from 8.58 euros to 8.76 euros, in a few weeks. On the subject of pensions, France Info has confirmed that retirement pensions will be increased by 4% for 18 million people.
A project as soon as mentioned by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne on June 8. For his part, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, announced another great news.
Smic, savings, pensions: these revaluations to be expected
On the occasion of July 14, Bruno the Mayor also revealed that the Livret A would experience an annual increase, like the minimum wage. Our colleagues from Capital revealed that the rate would increase to 2% from August 2022.
Planet media also pointed out: “The yield of the Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet being equal to that of the Livret A, its rate will drop to 2% from August”.
The savings account, meanwhile, will rise from 2.20% to 4.60% from the start of next month. Finally, it is the housing savings account which will also be upgraded, like the minimum wage. It will finally increase and will go from 0.75% to 1.25%.
One thing is certain, the daily life of the French will also be able to improve from next month. It will still be necessary to wait a little before knowing the future measures of the government to deal with inflation.
For the moment, the French are impatiently awaiting the numerous revaluations planned for August 2022. Case to follow!
