Pelosi is re-elected to Congress from California

According to the Associated Press, Pelosi, 84 years old, won again in the US House of Representatives elections for the 11th Congressional District seat in California after 42% of the votes were counted in the state.

According to the agency, Pelosi received 81.5% of the votes, while her Republican opponent, Bruce Lowe, received only 18.5% of the votes.

Meanwhile, Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schulz won the House of Representatives elections for the 25th Congressional District in Florida.

CNN reported that the Republican Party won 178 seats in the House of Representatives, compared to 150 seats for the Democrats.

On Tuesday, Republicans won a seat previously held by Democrats in the US Senate in the state of West Virginia, according to US media, where the final results have not yet been released.

The American Fox News channel reported on Wednesday that the Republican Party won the majority in the Senate after obtaining 51 seats, depriving the Democrats of control of this chamber.

The struggle rages between the Republican and Democratic parties to win the largest number of seats in this year’s elections, to control Congress in its 119th edition since its creation.

The Senate seats being voted on this year are divided between 11 seats held by Republicans, 19 seats held by Democrats, and four seats held by independents who unite with the Democrats.

On November 5, the United States witnessed the presidential elections. In it, former US President Donald Trump is competing for the Republican Party, and current Vice President Kamala Harris is competing for the Democratic Party.

In addition to the presidential elections, elections for members of the full House of Representatives will be held on November 5, as well as 33 members of the Senate, meaning a third of all states.
