Pelosi Conflict sparks fire at Korean airlines… Bypass China’s training airspace around Taiwan

Some routes to and from Southeast Asia need to be adjusted

South Korean airlines are also forced to reroute some flights as China announces military exercises around Taiwan in response to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

According to public-private sources in the aviation sector on the 3rd, the Chinese government will conduct military exercises, including live ammunition firing, in six seas and airspaces around Taiwan from noon on the 4th (local time) to noon on the 7th. On the 2nd, it was notified not to enter the airspace, and this was announced as a Chinese aviation notice.

Accordingly, the Korean government also issued an aviation notice with the same content, and it is known that national airlines are considering ways to adjust the flight routes of some routes that have passed through the airspace where the training will take place.

It is understood that the routes that require route adjustment are mainly flights to and from Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.

If you travel to and from Southeast Asia using a route that bypasses Taiwan, the flight time seems to be slightly longer.

In the midst of this, according to the Chinese military’s military training notice, all flights to and from Taipei Taoyuan Airport on the 4th were canceled, Taiwanese media such as Zhongxi Shimbun reported on the 3rd.

According to the report, a total of 40 flights were canceled, including 28 flights to Taoyuan Airport and 12 flights leaving Taoyuan Airport.

Taiwan aviation experts interpreted that the intention of the Chinese military, which announced that it would conduct training in six districts around Taiwan, was to block international routes to and from Taiwan.
