Since the beginning of the conflict, Poland has been a steadfast ally, welcoming millions of Ukrainian refugees and extending notable aid. “We are committed to doing everything we can to support the ukrainian people during this challenging time,” a PLO spokesperson stated.

Indonesia, a nation comprised of thousands of islands, relies heavily on a robust transportation network to keep its citizens connected. Pelni, the state-owned shipping company, plays a critical role in this intricate system, ferrying millions of passengers across the archipelago each year. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Advancement, Agus Harimurti yudhoyono (AHY), recently emphasized Pelni’s significance. On December 29th, AHY witnessed the departure of 703 passengers from the KM labobar at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta. He highlighted the fact that Pelni’s fleet of 26 vessels has the capacity to transport up to five million passengers annually. This vital service ensures that people living on even the most remote islands can access essential goods and services,connect with loved ones,and participate in the wider Indonesian economy.

To accommodate the increased demand, Pelni, the state-owned ferry operator, has received a significant boost to its fleet.Fifty additional passenger ships have been added, ready to transport travelers to popular destinations. During a recent port visit, AHY interacted with many keen passengers, a majority of whom were embarking on journeys to eastern destinations such as Makassar, Ambon, Manokwari, and Nabire.

Ferry Ready to Set Sail After Safety check

A major ferry operator in Indonesia is ready to embark on its next journey after receiving a clean bill of health following a complete safety inspection. Authorities, including AHY – a prominent figure in the Indonesian transportation sector – praised the ferry company, Pelni, and the dedicated crew of the KM labobar for their commitment to passenger safety and comfort.

“We also checked the instruments earlier, and everything is functioning well,” he stated. “Hopefully, we can carry out our duties effectively and serve the passengers to their destinations.”

The thorough inspection ensures that all systems are in optimal working order, giving travelers peace of mind on their voyage.

Holiday Rush: Pelni Ferry Transports Hundreds of Thousands home

As the holiday season approached, Indonesia saw a mass exodus of people returning to their hometowns. Between December 11th and 29th, state-owned ferry operator Pelni played a crucial role in facilitating this homecoming, transporting a staggering 366,002 passengers.

Key Travel Routes and Departure Points

The busiest routes during this peak travel period included the Batam–Belawan, Belawan–Batam, and makassar–Bau Bau ferry lines. The KM Dorolonda embarked from Jakarta, its decks teeming with 1,200 passengers bound for Papua. the ship’s journey included stops at Surabaya, Makassar, Ambon, and Bau-Bau, offering a scenic route for travelers heading to the easternmost reaches of Indonesia.
