NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The Pelicans will try to bounce back Friday (March 1) following losing the last 3 of 4 games.
Wednesday night they fell to the Pacers 123-114 on the road in the second game of a back-to-back following their 115-92 win over the Knicks in Madison Square Garden.
On Friday, they’ll face the Pacers, except this time they’ll be in the Smoothie King Center, and Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Trey Murphy III, and C.J. McCollum are no longer listed in the injury report.
More ball handling should be on deck for the Pelicans as second-unit point guard Jose Alvarado is set to return from a 3-game suspension Friday.
The Pelicans, who were once down by 20 on Wednesday, fought back to get within 6 once morest the Pacers but mightn’t get over the hump as Tyrese Haliburton (17 pts; 13 ast) and Pascal Siakam (24 points) closed the game out for a Pacers win.
The Pacers (34-26) are 7th in the Eastern Conference and even though their defense needs some work, they are one of the NBA’s highest-flying teams on the offensive side of the ball. A rested and reloaded Pelicans team (35-25), currently 6th in the West will get another chance to get revenge as they fight to avoid falling into the Play-In Tournament at the end of the season.
The Pelicans will tip-off with the Pacers at home live tonight on WBXH and all Gray TV stations in the Gulf Coast region at 7 p.m. Check your local provider for details.
