Pelicans impressed with Zion Williamson’s form

The New Orleans training camp, however, has only started since Tuesday morning, at a rate of two daily training sessions. But Zion Williamson has already managed to put Willie Green in his pocket since the Pelicans coach was impressed by his player’s performance in these first sessions.

“Z looked in incredible shape. With his strength, his speed, he more or less dominated the scrimmage., slipped the coach following training yesterday.

Returning to 100% following a foot injury that kept him away from the field throughout last season, Zion Williamson has already scored points.

“What stood out was above all his strength. He quickly scanned both sides of the floor. When he had the ball, he made quick decisions, whether it was to score or to find a teammate. It was really impressive to see”he added.

His conquered teammates

His teammate Larry Nance Jr. was also marked by the physical dimension found in Zion Williamson.

“The guy hasn’t played basketball in 500-something days. It’s not like we weren’t expecting this right away but damn it, I have to be honest with you, the guy looks fine. It’s going to take time for everyone to adjust to him, and him to others, but it’s hard not to be impressed.”

Among the players with whom he had not yet evolved, the point guard Jose Alvarado is hopeful that the return of the former resident of Duke takes place for the best.

“I think he’s a very special player, who we can adapt to. He doesn’t necessarily need the ball right away. He will find his way. He adapted very well. It looked like he had been playing with us for a while,” he confided.

The Pelicans’ first pre-season game will take place on Tuesday, October 4 once morest the Bulls.
