Pegi Setiawan’s attorney, Yanti, plans to report Aep, a witness who is suspected of giving false information in the murder case of Vina Dewi Arsita, 16 and Muhammad Rizky alias Eky, 16.

“Our team is really annoyed and wants to report Aep, because he gave false information,” said Yanti in Metro TV’s Most Controversial Podcast, quoted on Thursday (11/7).

Aep’s testimony, which was stated in the examination report (BAP), has also criminalized five people. In fact, Yanti said, she received information that the five children did not know regarding the murder of Vina and Eky.

Yanti said based on information from the public, on the night of the incident on August 27, 2016, the five children were sleeping together at the house of the Head of the Pasren Neighborhood Association (RT). However, Yanti did not specify the names of the five people who are now convicts.

“When they woke up, one of the witnesses said that when they woke up in the morning they were still complete,” said Yanti.

Previously, Aep and another witness named Dede had also been reported by the seven convicts to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit for allegedly providing false information.

“So it’s true that today I made a report on behalf of the convicts and this activity is a series of efforts to find other evidence. Hopefully in the future we will be questioned once more and given smoothness,” said the attorney for the seven convicts, Roely Panggabean, at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

According to Roely, Aep and Dede had given false statements when questioned by the police in the Vina murder case. The statements were also included in the BAP.

“The false statements made by Aep and Dede stated that they saw the five people, who were convicts, in front of SMP 11. In fact, they were not there,” said Roely.

In addition, Roely said that Aep and Dede’s statement that there was a commotion and stone throwing on the night of the incident was not true. For that, he hopes that with this report the police can prove the truth of the statements given by the two witnesses, Aep and Dede.

“Later, it will be up to the investigators to determine whether the issue is lying or not, it will be found out later,” said Roely.

The seven convicts who reported Aep and Dede Riswanto were Jaya, Supriyanto, Eka Sandi, Hadi Saputra, Eko Ramadhani, Sudirman, and Rivaldi Aditya Wardana. This report was registered with the number: LP/B/227/VI/2024/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI, dated July 10, 2024

The two reported persons are suspected of committing the crime of providing false statements under oath at Class I Bandung Prison, IIA Bandung Narcotics Prison and Cirebon City Police, West Java on September 2, 2016-November 23, 2016. As referred to in Article 242 of the Criminal Code. (Z-3)
