Times were easier for Upper Austria’s economy: increased interest rates, high inflation and cautious customers are burdening many sectors. It is therefore all the more important not to get discouraged. Numerous local companies show how innovative strength and adaptability can be successful even in difficult times. This was shown by the 30th edition of Pegasus, which was celebrated on Thursday evening in Linz’s Brucknerhaus.
The business prize, which the OÖ Nachrichten has been organizing since 1994 with its strong partners Raiffeisen Landesbank Oberösterreich, the state of Upper Austria, the Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Industry and KPMG, had the motto “New Ways” this year. The applications were quantitatively and qualitatively at the high level that is usual for Upper Austria.
These are the winners
Both lighthouses The art and foam group Greiner from Kremsmünster prevailed. The injection molding machine manufacturer Engel from Schwertberg came in second, third was the timber construction company Wiehag from Altheim.
The Pegasus in Gold at the success stories the solid wood furniture manufacturer Team 7 from Ried/Innkreis secured itself ahead of Zauner Anlagentechnik from Wallern and BMD Systemhaus from Steyr, software provider for tax consultants.
Both Innovationskaisern there was no getting past the Bernegger construction and processing group in Mollner. Behind them, the Hagenberger payment service provider Ventopay and EWS Consulting from Munderfing, specialists for renewable energies, were convincing.

The special award for the “Entrepreneur of the Year” went to Melanie Hofinger. She is head of Meritas Holding with seven book, paper and toy stores. A highlight of the gala evening was once once more the presentation of the crystal Pegasus for entrepreneurial life’s work. This award was given to the entrepreneurial couple Alois and Anna Elizabeth Scheuch awarded by the ventilation specialist of the same name from Aurolzmünster.
