The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, acknowledged this Friday, September 11, having been “informed” by the then Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, of the visit that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez would make in January 2020, indicating that it was “private” and that after what happened he found out about the sanctions imposed by the European Union on the Venezuelan official.

Sánchez, from the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, pointed out that once he learned of the ban on Rodríguez from entering the Schengen area, “the planned visit” – lasting three days – which included meetings with ministers, was cancelled.

«That is the participation of the Government of Spain. Any other issue that has to do with alleged criminal practices will have to be resolved by the State Security Forces and Bodies and the Justice Department and those who will have to respond will be those people involved,” he highlighted.

A report from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard in Spain indicates that the head of Government of that country, Pedro Sánchez, was aware that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez had the intention of landing at the Barajas Airport in Madrid on the night of January 19, 2020 – a case later known as Delcygate , since the Venezuelan official is prohibited from entering the Schengen area due to sanctions.

According to the report, which is within the so-called “Koldo Case”, the then Minister of Transportation, José Luis Ábalos, informed Pedro Sánchez about Delcy Rodríguez’s intention to have a “discreet” meeting with the official and that he himself He did not object, that is, he did not oppose the meeting taking place.

«And to finish bothering you, the vice president of Venezuela comes privately on Monday and wants to see me discreetly as a continuation of the meeting I had with the minister of communication (who is her brother, Jorge Rodríguez). The management that we agreed on in favor of Spanish companies has allowed Duro Felguera to collect a significant debt,” reads the message, to which the president responded “good”, thinking that it was to obtain money for overdue debts.
