Order speech by Pedro Frailán
During his opening speech dedicated to Dr. Francisco Omar Araujo, the great bibliographer of Trujillo and titled We have the house, but let’s keep dreaming about it. Carvajal 354 yearsPedro Frailan expressed:
“A dreamer of houses is the one who imagines the spaces and even more so everyone who has stopped at the image of the inhabited and the habitable through the creative exercise of evocation. In this sense, we are all dreamers of houses: we all sometimes discover their corners, their smells, their little secrets and by remembering them we give them a new, much richer life.” Gastón Bachelard, “The Poetics of Space” (…)
Cocuizas sheets
This is the place of the cocuiza savannahs that the Cuica indigenous toponymy is described as estovacuy meaning and translation is cocuiza savannahs (…) I clarify the estovacuy category is not referential to a character, to a human group, it is the determination to a plantation similar to the Vitú terminology, which is an indigenous category, which is the name of a hydrographic basin, which flows into the Manaicito River (…)
This settlement is attributed to Captain Baltazar de Carvajal (…) It is good to be clear about the chronology and the characters so as not to enter into contradiction and confusion: This house has been a colony, independence, republic, district municipality, civil and ecclesiastical parish and autonomous municipality.
Saint Raphael Archangel “Medicine of God”
Always protected by Saint Raphael the Archangel, God’s medicine thereby strengthens faith, with Saint Gennaro, the heart of Jesus, the Holy Trinity, the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew, which is our pastoral care that extends to Motatan.(…)
It has been an example of successful business experiences at different times, a house for music, for crafts, for basket weaving, for education for the meeting of its inhabitants distributed in its four parishes, with one of the most dynamic populations and in full development and growth of the state. Let us remember that its inhabitants give life to the house (…)
Blessed José Gregorio Hernández
Today our great symbol of the city is José Gregorio Hernández who lived as an exemplary citizen and passed on to us. The imminent strength of all times in politics is not the inclination when it is ill-conceived, it makes us. Let us remember that these values are ethics and morals.
Saint Ignatius of Loyola said, we have to think, although many of us are afraid to do so. But we have to do it. If we look at it as a citizen, we do it, with the local government, its inhabitants and civil organizations, then we build a triangle of solidarity.
Needs and proposals
We have to realize that we need: A hospital, a fire department, a terminal, here I am going to be a mention related to the stops that our lines in the city of Valera, are in the open and when extreme weather comes from citizens I have the impression that we are in a state of abandonment, we have to do something, I know how but let’s think about it from the city.
I remembered our Blessed José Gregorio, I propose that Airport Avenue be named after him. Looking at the Airport, we have to develop a policy of sense of belonging, to this institution (…) As Carvajal is a path, the Airport is a path to the world through the highways of the air.
I propose that in its parks and squares the silver of cocuizas be planted, it is our symbol of the earth, let us return to our origins! We are estovacuy! From here, a recognition and admiration for our bagpipe, which is an archive of history, and of linguistic heritage, we will listen to it carefully.
Congratulations to the birthday boy on his 354th birthday
My God, there are so many things to say, but time marks me, to finish, first of all I am going to remember Mario Briceño Iragorry, in a message without a destination “when he said “To the crisis of the country, let us not add our anguish and despair . Let us try at all costs that our anguish is not to die, but quite the opposite, to find justice and freedom. Congratulations to the birthday boy on his 354th birthday, Pedro Frailan concluded his dissertation.
