Fairfield County Medical Association Elects Dr. Raymond Lorenzoni III as Vice President
The Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) has elected Dr. Raymond Lorenzoni III as its vice president at the organization’s annual meeting on October 30, 2024. Dr. Lorenzoni, a dedicated physician at Connecticut Children’s, will help lead the FCMA, a prominent organization representing nearly 1,000 physicians throughout Fairfield County.

“As Vice President of the Fairfield County Medical Association, I am deeply committed to our community and will work hard to support Fairfield physicians who are providing the care our patients deserve,” said Dr. Lorenzoni. Dr. Lorenzoni’s passion for comprehensive healthcare is evident in his dual focus on treating patients with pediatric and adult congenital heart conditions at Connecticut Children’s campuses in Westport and Hartford, CT. Founded in 1792, the FCMA is a cornerstone of healthcare in Fairfield County. The organization works tirelessly to “organize the doctors of medicine of Fairfield County, Connecticut, to protect the art and science of medicine, to enlighten the public in matters of health, and to promote the health of the community,” as stated in its mission. Dr. Lorenzoni’s election reflects the FCMA’s dedication to future-focused leadership and a commitment to expanding the organization’s reach.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Connecticut, Dr. Lorenzoni pursued specialized training at prominent institutions across the country. He honed his skills in pediatric and adult cardiology at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and advanced cardiac imaging at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This dedication to continuous learning underscores his commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Dr. Lorenzoni is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. Etched into his career path is a deep commitment to active involvement within his field. He’s a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society, American Medical Association, and the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography, among others.
Driving Innovation in Pediatric Cardiac Care
Dr. Lorenzoni’s research interests explore cutting-edge advancements in pediatric cardiac care. His work focuses on 3D cardiac visualization of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease, fetal cardiology, and the clinical education of future physicians. He has received multiple research grants for his groundbreaking work, showcasing his commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical knowledge.
His dedication to exploring novel frontiers in cardiac care led him to collaborate with Microscape, Inc. to advance the field of 3D and 4D cardiac fusion imaging and pre-surgical planning with their Cardioscape software. This innovative approach demonstrates Dr. Lorenzoni’s dedication to improving patient outcomes through technological advancement.

The FCMA’s new vice president joins other principle leaders elected during the organization’s annual meeting. Joseph Feuerstein, MD, will serve as President; Andrew Wong, MD, as Secretary; Craig Olin, MD, as treasurer; and Camelia Lawrence, MD, as Immediate Past President. **Host:** You specialize in pediatric and adult congenital cardiology at Connecticut Children’s. How do your experiences in clinical practice inform your approach to leadership within the FCMA?
**Dr. Lorenzoni:** Working with patients and families facing complex heart conditions has taught me the importance of communication, empathy, and collaboration. Those skills are essential in leading an organization like the FCMA.
