The driver was traveling on the B122 from Kremsmünster towards Wels around 6:50 a.m. when he overlooked and hit the 47-year-old at the zebra crossing in Sattledt. According to witness statements, the Kirchdorf woman was thrown through the air and remained lying on the side of the road.
The 47-year-old stopped the vehicle briefly, but then continued driving without helping the woman.
Turned himself in to the police
According to the police, the witnesses were able to see enough parts of the license plate as well as the color and make of the car to be able to determine the identity of the driver. However, the 47-year-old was neither at home nor at work. At around 3 p.m. he finally turned himself in to the police.
Drugs behind the wheel
The man was diagnosed with cocaine and THC impairment. He is charged with negligent bodily harm in traffic and failure to provide assistance. In addition, he receives a report from the district administration because of the impairment caused by addictive substances. No further details are known regarding the 47-year-old’s condition.
