Pedestrian bridges in Dubai have been repaired

UAE: Pedestrian footbridges in various parts of Dubai have been repaired. The works of 67 footbridges under the Dubai Road and Transport Authority were completed last year.

The action is to ensure a safe journey for pedestrians. Five of the repaired bridges are fully iced. The main steps taken are installing 10 electric elevators and various systems to ensure safety.

Roads and Facilities Maintenance Director of the Authority, Hamad Al Shehi, said that the RTA periodically inspects the related facilities of the road systems and ensures safety. He also asked the public to report complaints related to pedestrian travel systems through the official channels of the authority. The authorities also clarified that the increase in such complaints indicates the awareness among the people regarding the traffic system in the city.
