Ukrainian TV presenter Oleksandr Pedan, who is known for the programs “Hearts of Three”, “Who’s on Top?”, “Exis” and many other TV projects, responded to the hate regarding support in court for Oleksandr Liev, who is suspected of embezzling 1.5 billion hryvnias for the purchase of shells for the Armed Forces

“I understand your reaction and respect it. That is why I have to comment on the situation that has become the subject of discussions,” Oleksandr wrote on his Instagram.

Pedan noted that he has been friends with Liev for more than 10 years and knows him as a decent person, a loving father of five children, whose family was in Ukraine throughout the war.

“I came to the court session on January 29 to guarantee that he will not avoid justice, will not go abroad and will meet the investigation. This possibility is provided by law and is an absolutely normal practice. Does this mean that I do not believe in the accusations that nominated to him? Of course not, because this is a matter of justice, and I cannot give professional assessments,” the man wrote.

The TV presenter added that the meeting was open and an online broadcast was conducted, which you can watch. He also wrote about the conclusions after his testimony.

“In the end, the court rejected the prosecutor’s request and did not choose a preventive measure for Oleksandr Liev, nor did it support the request for bail. What will happen next? It depends on the law enforcement agencies and the judicial system of Ukraine. As a citizen, I believe that the guilty will be punished,” he said Pedan
