The weekend said goodbye to summer in various parts of the region and with different sports activities for people to attend as a family. One of those was the great cycle event organized by Mindep-IND Ñuble and where more than 1,500 people participated.
The route covered from the Plaza de Armas to Quilamapu (Libertad, Isabel Riquelme, Collin, OHiggins, Paul Harris). It all ended in Quilamapu where different sports stations were installed where participants might learn regarding different sports.
The organizing body appreciated that no accidents or mishaps have been recorded and the collaboration of the Municipality of Chillán and the Carabineros of Chile. During the activity that included children, adults and young people. It should be noted that sports items were given as gifts to the participants, such as backpacks, among others. The activity was within the framework of the “Marca tu Verano” campaign, which was promoted in all regions of the country.
The Seremi of Sports, Julio Jorquera, maintained that “we once once more demonstrate that when public spaces are opened to sport, the community responds greatly. It is gratifying to see entire families participate with so much enthusiasm and happiness, without having to regret any mishap. We will continue to replicate these activities, and we can anticipate that in April we will hold a recreational family run that we are already preparing to celebrate World Sports Day.”
Annie Fuentes, IND Regional Director (s), assured that “The cycling event was part of the summer events that the IND has held nationwide in all regional capitals. The good turnout continues to position Ñuble as one of the regions with the highest participation per capita in free recreational sports events open to the community.”
Now more sports activities are expected, since the great objective is to always keep the population active in the physical sphere with activities aimed at the family and recreational sphere.
