The DE of PEAK in its announcement referred to the moves it has made for the reconstruction of the indoor stadium “K. Petropoulos”.
The announcement: “You never face the ellasson if you don’t choose the major.”
With this in mind, for a few weeks now the Administration of PEAK Patras and the president George Antonopoulos have been dealing with seriousness and a sense of responsibility the tightness problem that arose in the “Kostas Petropoulos” Indoor Gym.
Let’s assume in principle that the specific facility was built and delivered in the late 1970s. That is, in relation to its resistance to extreme weather conditions, it is an indoor gym where any interim – temporary solution would partially solve the problem with high chance of reoccurring over the next months or years.
The choice of the Management Committee from the first moment was to deal with the problem in full and with guaranteed strength, since the relevant technocratic recommendations did not provide guarantees of a definitive solution in the opposite case.
Thus, on the initiative of the President of the Management Committee, autopsies were carried out by reputable companies, with the opinions of the experts maturing even more the opinion of the general repair of the roof of the Indoor Gymnasium.
At the same time, the Management Committee already has at its disposal a specific study on the basis of which it is proceeding with an open tender for the construction of the project, for which it will be necessary to stop the operation of the facility for as long as necessary and with the condition that the project will be completed before the start of the autumn competitions and other obligations of the Clubs that use the Indoor Gym. It should also be noted that the Management Committee of PEAK Patras, respecting the request of the teams to complete the current season, decided to extend the start of the project.
The Administration of PEAK Patras throughout this period is in constant cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and the Minister Mr. Yiannis Vroutsis, who has from the first moment reinforced the decision to deal with the problem in its entirety.
Finally, the Administration of PEAK Patras, being present every day and at all hours in the training grounds, knows and accepts that during heavy rains the use of means is required in order to clean the facility from the water during its use, and commits that soon these images will be a thing of the past.”
