Located a few hectometers from Annecy airport, the headquarters of the FFS was transformed into an anthill this Monday. The “Nordics” were making their comeback, with all the excitement that goes with it.

In a corner, the cross-country skiers bicker in a good mood, before sitting down and reading magazines while waiting for their turn for a photo shoot. In another, Lou Jeanmonnot jokes with Cyril Burdet and Jean-Pierre Amat. We get news, we laugh, among the press officers who monitor that the schedule is respected. “It’s great to be all together,” smiles Océane Michelon, new member of the France A biathlon team.

Before the alpines and freestylers on Friday, all these beautiful people came together to do a series of photo and video sessions in order to provide the Federation and all its partners with content. An intense day, with multiple trips back and forth to the four corners of the site, with the reward of a huge bag made up of supplies for the coming winter.

Simon: “It’s time to please everyone a little”

“The first few times, you’re like a kid, you feel like it’s Christmas,” smiles Delphine Claudel. Athletes are literally getting dressed for winter. “We try on the wetsuits, the down jackets, we validate the sizes and that’s it! We are ready for the season,” laughs Julia Simon. “There is aesthetics, but above all comfort,” continues the founder, “If it’s too tight, too loose… When you feel good in your clothes, you have more self-confidence; It may be stupid but it also works! » “It kicks off the season!” We have the new outfits, all the little goodies, it’s a little exciting to think that it’s happening very quickly,” enthuses Océane Michelon.

Suddenly a voice is heard: “You are expected at studio 2!” » It is then time for the targeted athlete to quickly fix their hair and prepare their most beautiful smile. “We respond to sponsors’ requests by making promotional videos and photos,” explains Julia Simon. “It’s time to satisfy everyone by creating the communication materials that will be useful to them this winter. » “Okay, are the girls almost finished?” », laugh the founders. Just a little more patience and their day will soon be over. For the biathletes, once this marathon is completed, head to Geneva airport to fly to Ramsau (Austria) for the girls, and Prémanon by car for the boys.

As the autumn season begins, the Fédération Française de Ski (FFS) headquarters, located near Annecy airport, has come alive with the return of Nordic athletes. The excitement is palpable, with cross-country skiers, biathletes, and other winter sports athletes reunited for the start of a new season. The event, which has brought together athletes from different disciplines, exudes a sense of camaraderie and shared enthusiasm for the season ahead.

The gathering, which took place on a Monday, saw athletes chatting, laughing, and waiting for their turn in a photo shoot. The lighthearted atmosphere, filled with bickering and jokes, highlights the strong bond among team members. As new member of the France A biathlon team, Océane Michelon, aptly puts it, “It’s great to be all together.”

This event marks an important milestone for French Nordic athletes, as they prepare to tackle the upcoming Nordic season in their striking new blue ODLO race suits [[3]]. The FFS athletes, including biathletes like Lou Jeanmonnot and Océane Michelon, will aim to make a strong impact in their respective disciplines.

Interestingly, the French biathlon team recently met for a training camp in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, a site that will host the next World Championships [[2]]. This concerted effort to prepare and fine-tune their skills bodes well for the team’s chances in the upcoming season.

Furthermore, the inclusion of para biathlon in the 2030 French Alps Winter Games, approved by the International Paralympic Committee Governing Board, highlights the growing recognition of winter sports [[1]]. This development is expected to provide more opportunities for athletes with disabilities to participate and compete at the highest level.

the FFS headquarters’ recent gathering of Nordic athletes marks an exciting new chapter for French winter sports. With a sense of camaraderie, new team members, and updated gear, these athletes are poised to make a mark in the upcoming season.
