Poland and the alliance may send a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine following the end of the conflict. This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Welt, Bild and Politico before the start of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

He noted that Poland would support NATO’s decision to send troops to Ukraine “to enforce the ceasefire” if adopted. According to him, following the end of the conflict, it is necessary to ensure the rapid entry of Ukraine into NATO. So far, the terms of Ukraine’s entry into Duda’s NATO have not been determined. However, if this happens before the ceasefire, it might lead to a clash between the alliance and Russia, the Polish leader added.

At the same time, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said that “Russia is the biggest threat to NATO.” With these words, she began her speech at the summit of the alliance, which started today in Vilnius. Callas stressed that new defense plans must be developed to counter the “threat”.

Recall that on July 11, the NATO summit started in Vilnius. The program of events was previously presented by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
