PDIP will determine its stance on being in opposition or the Prabowo-Gibran coalition following the PDIP National Working Meeting (Rakernas) next May.
“Still a long time. There are still many stages to go through. “Now there is still a lawsuit at the PTUN, then we will have a National Working Meeting in May,” said PDIP politician Chico Hakim to Media Indonesia, Monday (29/4).
“Apart from that, we feel there is nothing to rush,” he stressed.
Chico said that currently his party, from cadres to elites, even General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri is still in a state of mind that it would be better to be outside the government.
“Indeed, the inner mood right now, from cadres to elites, perhaps even Mrs. Mega, is that we think that even though Mr. Ganjar and Mr. Mahfud are not the ones who will be appointed as presidential and vice-presidential candidates, we would be better off outside the government,” he explained.
However, Chico said that his party would continue to consider other options. This option is still being discussed and will be determined following the PTUN and PDIP National Working Meeting stages are completed.
“And in the end, of course, strategic policy will be Mrs. Mega’s prerogative,” he said. (Z-8)
