PDIP To Dismiss 27 Cadres For Disciplinary Violations
Jakarta – PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto announced that the party will be dismissing 27 cadres due to disciplinary violations. This follows the dismissal of Effendy Simbolon, who was removed from his position due to differing political choices in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
Besides Simbolon, the names of the other 26 cadres facing dismissal haven’t been publicly released.
“The party organization is continuously evaluating party discipline to maintain the sanctity of internal democracy and uphold the party’s revolutionary ideals,’” Hasto explained.
Speaking at the PDIP Party School in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, on December 4, 2024, Hasto emphasized that discipline is crucial for a political party to function effectively.
“To all levels of the DPD and DPC, we will impose organizational sanctions on anyone who violates party discipline,” he stated.
These sanctions emphasize the party’s commitment to consolidating its ideology and strengthening it ahead of the 2025 party congress.
“We aim to filter out cadres who do not adhere to the party’s values. We need militant cadres who uphold truth and are fearless in the face of intimidation,” Hasto added.
An internal party meeting will be held to identify cadres who violated discipline throughout the 2024 regional elections.
”
The DPP has received input regarding at least 27 individuals who will be subject to dismissal,”
Hasto clarified.
The sanctions will be announced at an official party event on December 17, 2024.
Hasto explained that the party considers this process a crucial step in teaching cadres about political responsibility.
“All at once, we will announce, through a proper party protocol, that disciplinary actions are vital for all party cadres,” he detailed.
Hasto highlighted that party membership comes with the responsibility to prioritize the collective good.
“Discipline is key to realizing these ideals,” he stressed.
The party believes that upholding democracy and human rights in every political action are essential, as highlighted earlier by General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Hasto expressed gratitude toward the public, academics, and media who have continually supported PDIP’s commitment to democracy and human rights. “We must build a Greater Indonesia,” he concluded.
The party event will therefore serve as a milestone and a platform for reiterating the values and dedication of its members.
