PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) has not decided whether to join the government in the future or become the opposition. This was handed over to PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“The question of whether PDI Perjuangan will join the government or be outside the government is the authority of the general chairman,” said Chairman of the PDIP Election Winning Body (Bappilu) Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, March 28 2024.
Bambang ensured that all cadres would obey Megawati’s decision. He also invited parties who doubted PDIP’s position not to be in the opposition.
“Yes, please, if people think, PDI must be like this, it must be like that, yes, please,” said Bambang.
PDIP’s position as the opposition was questioned by the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani. He questioned whether PDIP really became the opposition when Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka led the government. Bambang is not worried about this.
“That is, if you are then asked to comment on someone’s opinion, I am called an observer. Or an analyzer, an analyst, that’s not what I am, that other people have opinions about the PDI Perjuangan, whether they like it or not,” said Bambang.
