PDIP Claims 19 Victories in Central Java Regional Elections
Despite a loss in the Central Java gubernatorial race, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) emphasizes a strong showing in other regional elections across the province, claiming victory in 19 out of 35 cities and regencies.
“Thank God, out of 35 regency/cities, PDIP managed to win based on counting results, where 19 regencies/cities that were put forward by PDIP cadres received victory,” said PDIP chairwoman Puan Maharani at the parliament complex in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 3.
Puan affirmed that the party’s performance in Central Java, a province nicknamed the “bull pen”, constitutes a significantцени assessment, regardless of the outcome in the gubernatorial pair.
Puan emphasized, “We have evaluated, we have tried our best, the Central Java people have chosen their leader now.”
She also underlined that the people have spoken through express their preferences at the ballot box, and they have chosen their desired leader for the upcoming term.
