THE Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) claims that the absence of the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri from the 2024 MRP, DPR, and DPD annual sessions is related to her relationship with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). However, she was reluctant to detail the reasons for her general chair’s absence.

“This is how it is, you have your own perception. Perception can be right, many are wrong. Therefore, to be sure, look for the facts. Ask the person who gave the invitation,” said PDIP politician Bambang Wuryanto (Patjul) at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 16, 2024.

Bambang said that Megawati was not the only one absent from the annual session. The sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), was also absent from the Parliament Complex.

“That means of course we don’t know whether it was a coincidence or what, but the fact is that he wasn’t present,” said Bambang.

SBY has been in Pacitan since yesterday, August 15, 2024. The sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia was said to be absent because he felt that his duties were complete.

“Yes, Mr. SBY as the Sixth President of Indonesia has carried out his duties during his reign, and he is also aware that today he has agendas after his state duties,” said member of the House of Representatives Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, South Jakarta, Friday, August 16, 2024.

The man who is familiarly called Ibas said that SBY must attend the thanksgiving for the one-year anniversary of the construction of the SBY-Ani Museum in Pacitan, today. The agenda was said to have been scheduled for a long time.

Of course, as the founder and initiator of the museum, he wanted to be present in person to give a kind of statement,” said Ibas. (Z-9)
