From nostalgic fans to gamers who didn’t have the chance to try consoles in the past, emulators are an essential part of those who want to preserve and enjoy thousands of games in the future. Now, one of them, PCSX2, the main one among those that reproduce the Playstation 2, has reached a remarkable milestone, with over 99% of the entire console’s massive library now playable on the system.

Initially launched in 2002, the emulator has received several updates over the years. Specifically, among all PS2 games, PCSX2 can now perfectly emulate 1.23% of them, while 97.92% of games currently have the “playable” rating —which, in general, already provides an almost perfect game, with very occasional bugs, most of which can be resolved by changing small settings.

Those classified as “perfect” in the emulator run as they did on the original console. A The full list of games can be accessed on the emulator website, at this link.

Furthermore, the developers are preparing to release the “completely stable” version of PCSX2, with the aim of making the PS2 emulator offer a completely bug-free experience. Once this state is reached, all available PlayStation 2 game ROMs should work without problems.

In the latest updates, the system stood out for bringing a more user-friendly interface capable of organizing the games that are installed and ready to run.
