PCB’s new schedule for the series against Zimbabwe

The Pakistan Cricket Board has released a new schedule for the series against Zimbabwe, consisting of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches.

According to the announcement from PCB, “Pakistan will start its journey in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League from Rawalpindi where 3 ODI matches will be played against Zimbabwe”.

It may be noted that earlier the first three ODIs of the series against Zimbabwe were scheduled in Multan, however, according to PCB, the matches were shifted to Rawalpindi due to logistical and operational reasons.

PCB has shifted all the T20 matches scheduled in Rawalpindi to Gaddafi Stadium Lahore where the first match will be played on November 7, followed by the second match on November 8 and the third match on November 10.

Pakistan Cricket Board Director International Cricket Zakir Khan said that due to logistical and operational reasons Multan Stadium was not available so the schedule has been rearranged which is suitable for both teams, match management, broadcasters and other concerned authorities. .

Zakir Khan said that ‘we will be in constant contact with the Meteorological Department regarding the expected smog in Lahore in November and if there is a need for change during this time, it will be considered’.

He said that ‘the availability of Rawalpindi shows that there is no uncertainty regarding the holding of World Cup Super League matches and Pakistan will try to get maximum points with a winning start’.

New schedule of Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan

According to the new schedule, the Zimbabwean team will reach Islamabad on October 20, but will go into quarantine from October 21 to October 27 and will continue to practice during that time.

The visiting team will practice at the Pindi Cricket Stadium from October 28 to October 29 after the quarantine period is over.

The first T20 between the two teams will be played on October 30, the second T20 on November 1, the third and final T20 on November 3.

The Zimbabwe team will leave for Lahore on November 4 where they will practice on November 5 and November 6 and the first ODI match will be played on November 7.

The second ODI of the series will be played on November 8, while the third and final one-dayer will be played on November 10.

The Zimbabwean team will return to Harare on November 12 after the series is over.

Remember that the Zimbabwean team visited Pakistan in 2015 when no team in the world was ready to visit.

Zimbabwe played 3 ODIs and 2 T20 matches in Lahore in 2015, after which Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and MCC cricket team also visited Pakistan and the series was played.

In the early years of Pakistan Super League (PSL), PCB organized the finals and semi-finals in Pakistan, while this year all PSL matches were played in Pakistan.

PSL 2020 could not be completed due to Corona virus and now PCB has scheduled the remaining matches on November 14, 15 and 17 in Lahore.
