PCB tightens fitness standards for national cricketers – Sports

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has tightened the fitness criteria for the pre-contract fitness test of the national cricketers, these fit players will be exempted from certain conditions of the fitness test.

According to the sources, the national cricketers included in the Test squad and central contract will have to go through a strict fitness test. The fitness test of the Test squad members and some Central contracted cricketers will be held on September 7 and 9 in Lahore.

The fitness test has been made subject to the central contract and the national cricketers have been in trouble due to the strict fitness while the players have started preparing to meet the stringent criteria of the fitness test.

The standard for passing the test is 60 percent, which is 50 percent globally, the fitness test includes bench press, skin fold, bench pull squat and long jump.

A time limit of 8 minutes is fixed to complete a 2 km trial run while a time limit of 10 seconds is fixed for 3 runs, 3 runs are to be taken 6 times at an interval of 30, 30 seconds, the run and 3 runs. The time limit has made the players nervous.
