PCB has ordered Umar Akmal to appear in the fixing case

Umar Akmal’s fate is expected to be decided soon, the appearance of the batsman involved in the fixing case will be on April 27.

Umar Akmal is accused of two violations of Article 4.4.2 of the Anti-Corruption Code, under which action is taken against a bookie’s failure to report contact to the board. A notice of charge was issued on March 2020 and an interim suspension permit was issued on 20 February 2020, due to which Quetta Gladiators were deprived of their services in PSL 5.

The middle-order batsman had decided not to challenge the charges against him in the anti-corruption tribunal. According to the law, the punishment has to be decided by the disciplinary panel headed by Justice Retired Fazal Meeran Chauhan. He heard the case last day on April 27. Notices have been issued to Umar Akmal and PCB while fixing the date.

According to the board, the hearing of the case will be held at the National Cricket Academy Lahore, during which all precautionary measures and social distancing will be strictly ensured to prevent corona virus.

It should be remembered that according to the provisions of the anti-corruption code, the punishment given to Umar Akmal can be from 6 months to life ban, another stain on the career of the batsman who has a long record of controversies in the past. The possibility is bright.
