PCB has introduced specific categories for five national cricketers.

PCB says that Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz and Umar Gul have signed event base contracts. The category has been introduced for the availability of these players for specific formats. Players in this category will only get their share of daily allowances, match fees and prize money.

PCB says Umar Gul has retired from all forms of cricket, so he will be paid up to the National T20 Cup.

According to PCB, 70 cricketers are available in the additional player pool apart from the contract signees. These players may be offered seasonal or event-based contracts.

According to PCB, the head coach of the respective team has to select the player to get the contract.
