Kochi: Former MLA PC George is absconding in connection with the Vennala hate speech case, police said. The police team from Kochi came to the house in Erattupetta in search of George but might not find him. PC Mattancherry ACP AG Raveendranath said that George might not be contacted on the phone.
‘PC George left home at noon. Relatives were also inspected. George’s phone is switched off. Tower location not found. PC received footage of George leaving the house in the followingnoon. More places will be inspected, ”the ACP said.
The Ernakulam District Sessions Court had rejected the anticipatory bail application of PC George in the Vennala hate speech case. The court ruled that George’s speech was provocative and might lead to sectarianism and disunity.
Footage of the speech at the Vennala Mahadeva Temple was submitted to the prosecution court. George claimed that the government was moving once morest him for political purposes and that it was a false case.
