PBSI Daily Chairman Alex Tirta stated that he really respects the decision to retire Indonesian badminton athlete, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon. As is known, Marcus announced that he was hanging up his racket on Saturday (9/3). Marcus decided this at the age of 33.
Alex said that his party had received news of Marcus’ retirement. However, PBSI has not received official information regarding this matter from Marcus.
“However, PBSI has not officially received the decision from Marcus Fernaldi Gideon in verbal or written form,” said Alex.
If Marcus’s decision to retire was indeed correct, Alex also stated that his party really respected this decision.
“PBSI really respects Marcus Fernaldi Gideon’s decision. Marcus Fernaldi Gideon’s achievements and dedication to the glory of Indonesian badminton are beyond doubt,” said Alex.
Furthermore, Alex said he was still waiting for an official statement or statement from Marcus regarding retirement.
“Currently PBSI is still waiting for further communication from Marcus Fernaldi Gideon to take the next steps,” he said. (Z-6)
