Mustafa Paytas, Minister Delegate in charge of relations with Parliament and the official spokesman for the government, touched upon the reasons for postponing the presentation of the outcome by the Prime Minister, and said that the Prime Minister “was the one who took the initiative, via a letter, in which he requested the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Chief of Advisers to schedule a joint session to present the outcome.” He highlighted that “a history has been reached, because the legislative and executive powers are independent, but the Constitution and the decisions of the Constitutional Court impose on them cooperation and integration, and this is what is being done, and we do not dictate opinions to Parliament, but we reach solutions and agreements with Parliament, and this is what actually happened.”

The government official added that it was concluded that “the Prime Minister comes to Parliament on his own initiative, and this demonstrates the government’s respect and appreciation for Parliament and considers it the ideal space to discuss the interim outcome and public policies, and that the real place for discussion is the dome of Parliament, following which it opens the way to various spaces for evaluation.”

Paytas pointed out that “the Speaker of the House of Representatives wrote to the Prime Minister telling him to postpone the joint session due to the inability to complete the structure of the House of Representatives, and the government complied with this decision and we are now waiting for the process to be completed. Then, within the framework of cooperation and balance between institutions, the Prime Minister will attend Parliament, and when we present the outcome.” Then we will see what the government has done and to what extent it has succeeded in the files it has dealt with.”

Paytas stated, in a press conference that followed the government council, that “it is too early to talk regarding an outcome that has not yet been presented, as the judgments, discussion that will take place, and the analysis that will be carried out by the media, experts, interested people, and observers will be based on an outcome that has not yet been presented.”
