On Tuesday, July 2, the government of Nicolás Maduro announced the start of the payment of the “Popular Cultivators” bonus, which corresponds to the month of June 2024 through the Patria System.
The monthly subsidy will be deposited only to those artists who are registered with the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture and have the Fatherland Card.
The “Popular Cultivators” bonus is 1,800 bolivars, equivalent to 49.38 dollars, according to the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) rate for July 2.

What is the “Popular Cultivators” bonus for?
The payment of the “Cultores Populares” subsidy is enough to buy six or seven of the eight products that make up the Petare Basket of the Venezuelan Finance Observatory (OVF), which was priced at 41.78 dollars.
The prices of this basket were consulted by the organization between June 23 and 29, which corresponds to week 26 of 2024.
Below are the prices of the Cesta Petare as published on July 1 by the OVF through its account on X (formerly Twitter):

-A carton of 30 eggs: 180 bolivars or $4.93
-A package of corn flour: 48 bolivars or $1.31
-One kilogram of white cheese: 190 bolivars or $5.21
-One kilogram of meat: 320 bolivars or $8.77
-A package of coffee: 480 bolivars or $13.16
-A package of rice: 65 bolivars or $1.78
-One liter of oil: 175 bolivars or $4.80
-A packet of sugar: 65 bolivars or $1.78
How to register in the Patria System?
To collect this subsidy and other subsidies deposited through the Patria System, the user must follow the following instructions:
-Go to the Patria System website www.patria.org.ve
-Select “Register”
-Complete the required data with the applicant’s ID number, cell phone number, sex and date of birth
– Click on “request validation code”, enter the security class and press “continue”
-The applicant will receive a confirmation code via text message
-Add your full name, email address, and exact home address to your profile.
-Create a password and select “register”
-Click “enter”
-Enter the ID number and security code and select “continue”
-Add the password
The “Cultores de la Patria” bonus is insufficient
The “Popular Farmers” bonus is insufficient to cover the basic needs of Venezuelans such as food, personal hygiene and household cleaning.
This is because the basic family basket, which includes 61 products for a family of five, has a price of 587.78 dollars, according to the Documentation and Social Analysis Center of the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers (Cendas-FVM).
According to the figures, a Venezuelan needs at least 12 deposits of the “Cultores Populares” bond to buy the entire basic family basket.
