The foreign news editor of News 13, Gil Tamri, spoke strongly last night on Lucy Ahrish’s show “Shihat Hayom” once morest Prime Minister Netanyahu on the subject of the abductees when he said “Netanyahu really has no incentive to release the abductees, he wants them all dead for his reasons, to be martyrs,” said Tamri .
His words caused a big storm, the Likud said “Hamas doesn’t need media if it has News 13”. Which quickly led to Tamri’s apology “I regret the unsuccessful choice of words – without detracting from the harsh criticism I have of the Prime Minister, I don’t really think he wants the abductees dead.”
However, it seems that his apology did not satisfy the channel’s management and according to various sources, the management is debating whether to continue dealing with Tamri, among other things it was decided in light of the sensitivity of the matter that Tamri will be absent from Network 13 broadcasts in the coming days, and is expected to return on Wednesday.
News Network 13 said “News 13 condemns what Gil Tamri said. He made a mistake in his statement and apologized for it on air. Only following he has done so is he expected to return to the air in the coming days.”
