The website praw.pl informs that the leaked data include: names, surnames, dates and places of birth, residential addresses, PESEL numbers, ID card numbers and bank account numbers.
“The leak is the responsibility of a ZUS employee who is a member of one of the trade unions operating at the plant, who sent it by e-mail to the private e-mail address of the vice-chairman of the trade union, who is no longer an employee of ZUS,” reports the prawo.pl website.

In accordance with the regulations, the Plant will inform the persons concerned regarding the incident. “Official consequences have been brought once morest the ZUS employee” – this is how ZUS spokesman Paweł Żebrowski replied to the questions of praw.pl.
In the event of a data leak, response time counts
The Personal Data Protection Office informs that, first of all, violations should be reported if there is a high probability that it will have an adverse impact on the persons affected by the data leak.
“This mainly concerns situations in which a breach may lead to identity theft, financial loss or breach of legally protected secrets. This may occur when the scope of the disclosed data includes, for example, information contained in identity cards, i.e. not only the name and surname, but PESEL number, document number or address,” the Personal Data Protection Office explained.
