During a program broadcast on the Flemish radio station Radio 2, Véronique De Sitter returned to the misadventure she experienced on the side of Maline. Wanting to park her car in a blue zone of the Flemish city, Véronique was surprised when she discovered later that she had still been fined. “Having received it on time, I immediately challenged it,” she says on the air.
“I was then told that my blue disc was no longer valid,” she continues. An answer that arouses incomprehension for Véronique. Indeed, to his great surprise, the blue disc must correspond to several European standards.
“The disc must display hours and half-hours, not quarter-hours,” VIAS spokesperson Benoît Godart told the daily Het Nieuwsblad. “There must also be no and the arrival time must be indicated in Dutch, French and German”.
If your disc does not meet these standards, it is therefore imperative to obtain another one. However, since the standards have been in force for more than 20 years, the spokesperson reassures by confirming that the problem encountered by Véronique is becoming increasingly rare.
