This weekend in Krakow belongs to athletes. Great running emotions await us, and the Cracovia Roller Marathon and the Night Run are already behind us. In the first one, Paweł Więcki was the best for the third time, the second one was won by Albert Tonui among men and Valentine Jabet among women.

Emotions are positive. In Krakow there is always the opening of the season in Poland. We have had sun for several years, which is very nice, because previously Krakow had the disgraceful reputation of starting the season in the rain – emphasized Paweł Więcki from Krakow following the win.
The competitor assessed that this year’s race turned out to be very technical. Kudos to Wojtek Kościelnik, who rode alone for 10 rounds and unfortunately did not manage to finish this race and implement our tactics, but huge applause. Wojtek will succeed next time – said the winner.
The best among the ladies was Aleksandra Glamkowska from Szczytna. The multiple Polish champions covered the distance of 42 km and 195 m in 1:13:57 and 1:16:13, respectively.

The competition of roller skaters proves that sport is for everyone. The youngest player is 18 years old and the oldest is 81.
After 1:00 p.m. the 17th Mini Cracovia Marathon ended. Piotr Gładki for the RMF MAXX Cup. The best among both women and men were players from Kenya – Jebet Valentine and Tonui Albert Kipkorir.
In the 10 km Night Run. Albert Tonui (time 32 minutes and 54 seconds) among men and Valentine Jabet among women (time 33 minutes 34 seconds) won.
Oleg Bodnarczuk finished second among men on the Main Square. Łukasz Kapłon was third. Among the women, the podium was completed by Sviatlana Sanko – second place and Sylwia Indeka – third place.
4,586 people from 35 countries took part in the race. The event was watched by thousands of spectators on the streets of Krakow.
However, the greatest emotions await us on Sunday. Then, at 9:00 sharp, the Cracovia Marathon will start.
The Krakow Marathon is the most international running event in Poland. Half a thousand people from abroad registered to take part.
In the previous edition, 5,195 competitors took part. The winners were Kenyan Lani Rutto and Lithuanian Lina Kiriliuk. This year they will not appear at the start.
After the pandemic break, we are not returning to inviting players in the Elite category. The costs of this are very high. Our goal is for as many participants as possible to take part – said Krzysztof Kowal, director of the event.
The start and finish were marked at the Main Square. The route will lead through the streets of the Old Town, Vistula Boulevards, around Błonia, but runners will also visit Podgórze and Nowa Huta.
