Footballer Paul Pogba’s sanction for doping was reduced on appeal to 18 months, Radio France Sports management learned from a source close to the player. In February, the 31-year-old international was sentenced to a four-year suspension by the Italian anti-doping court. He immediately appealed this decision.

In August 2023, following a Serie A match between his club, Juventus Turin, and Udinese, the player tested positive for testosterone. Paul Pogba has not played since September 2023 and will therefore be able to return to the field from March 2025. “18 months suspension” are “as of September 11, 2023”, a spokesperson for the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed to AFP. “The decision is rendered without reasons, which will follow later”he explained.

Paul Pogba published on his Instagram account on Friday evening a close-up photo of two feet wearing Pogba-branded football boots with socks bearing his initials decorated with the flag of France and the two world champion stars.
