Paul Pogba’s Nightmare Season at Juventus: The Impact of Non-Football Woes on His Performance

Supposed to revive at Juventus after a contrasting adventure at Manchester United, Paul Pogba had a nightmarish season. Author of only ten appearances in all competitions, the midfielder was injured for a large part of the season. In an interview with Views, the Frenchman explains that his extra-sporting worries had a negative impact on his body.

Among the best players in the world in his position when he is in full possession of his means, Paul Pogba thought he would revive himself by returning to Juventus, but ultimately had a nightmarish season. “My body was tense”

“The biggest test of my life”

While he thought he was free of his injuries after the Europa League semi-final against Sevilla FC where he gave an assist, Pogba was once again sidelined due to a left thigh injury. A physical glitch definitively ending his season.

More often present in the infirmary than on the pitch, the Frenchman believes that this season has been “the biggest test of [sa] life”: “Change club. Back here (to Juventus). The wounds. The extra-sporting problems (…) After having passed all that, it will be my greatest victory.”

Eager to “give people pleasure”, Pogba will certainly be keen to put aside his worries and injuries to finally achieve a full season with Juventus. And also why not, convince Didier Deschamps that he has his place in the group of Blues who are currently playing in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
