In the crowded hall of the Carnival in the Old Slaughterhouses multi-purpose hall, the performance of the Polyphonic Adult Theatrical Workshop, “Don Quixote, the dreamer” by Miguel de Cervantes, taught, adapted and directed by Athena Kallimanis – Georgitsopoulou, took place successfully.
The show, a parody of chivalric novels with rich creative imagination and witty humor, was staged as a comedy or as a musical and took the numerous spectators on a journey to the land of fantasy and adventure, provoking their warm applause at the end.
Based on a text by Stratis Paschalis and verses by the poet Michalis Ganas, addressed to children and adults, it was characterized by the imaginative costumes and original constructions by Dimitris Raptis, the live music by a five-member group (original composition: Mavra Konstantinou-Anagnostaki), while it had accessibility for the deaf/hard of hearing with interpretation in Greek sign language. On stage appeared an exuberant troupe of 29 people, actors and musicians, who gave their best.
The event was welcomed by the Vice-President of KEDIP – Patras Carnival Pavlos Skouras and the artistic director of the Polyphonic Group Stavros Solomos, while among the audience the member of the Board of Directors attended. of KEDIP Konstantinos Dragotis, members of the Advisory Committee of the Patrinos Carnival 2024 and the director of KEDIP Sofia Chrysopoulou.
The performance, which was included in the events program of the Patronus Carnival 2024, took place with the support of KEDIP- Patras Carnival and with free entry for the public.
