The revival of the “Eidomata” in a traditional and humorous way took place with the protagonists of the groom, the bride and the “soys” in a theatrical action by the Theater Group of the Cultural Association of Zavlani, while members of the Dance Department of the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Patreon, dressed in clothes from the 1950s they danced the dances popular at the time: tango, waltz, foxtrot, etc., not missing the Greek ones as well.
In the action that transported us to the customs and habits of other times, the members of the Theater Group of the Cultural Association of Zavlani presented a text full of freshness and nostalgia but also with strong references to today, causing laughter and joy in the audience.
After the eudosion of the consul and the kissing of the bride and groom, the necessary treats to the audience followed with sweet treats.
According to tradition, in the famous old pastry shop with the marble tables, famous for its creams, milk pies, rice puddings, puff pastry and loukumades, which was located in Corinth at its junction with George I Square, below Espero , the “news” were held, that is, the meetings in order to “proceed” the consulates.
There, in the heart of Patras, people from the villages of the wider area, who did not have the opportunity to meet at home, met and got to know each other.
