Patrick Thoresen, 40, is ready for Djurgården.

Storhamar confirms this on his website.

The former Djurgårds forward Patrick Thoresen, 40, is newly crowned Norwegian champion with Storhamar and WC player.

Now there will be a return in Djurgården.

The Storham players received the news from the coach and Patrick’s father Petter Thoresen at a players’ meeting on Monday.

“It became clear today that Patrick Thoresen will continue his career in his old club Djurgården in the Allsvenskan.” writes Storhamar on his website.

“What a dream name”

Djurgården’s new sporting director Niklas Wikegård commented on the interest in Thoresen for Sportbladet earlier this summer:

– What a damn dream name, I took him to Djurgården. But there is nothing in it. All Djurgårders, myself included, want that type of leader. I saw him in the WC, but there is nothing concrete, Wikegård said then.

Turns 41 this fall

Patrik Thoresen, who turns 41 in November, scored 48 points in 49 games for Djurgården in the SHL in the 2015/16 season. Before that, he played in Djurgården between 2003 and 2006.

He scored six points in seven games in the WC last spring.

Earlier this summer, Djurgården completed another seasoned returning forward in Dick Axelsson, 37.
