Patrick Sébastien: “The day when I can no longer eat, kiss and laugh, so hello!”

On the occasion of the release of his autobiographical book called “Live and be reborn every day”, Patrick Sébastien gave several interviews. This is how in the pages of the magazine “France Dimanche”, released on newsstands this Friday, October 7, 2022, he evokes his death without any taboo.

He admitted it in his book: suicide, he often considered it. “It’s true,” he confirms. But I never had the balls to pull the trigger. And so much the better because, no offense to my detractors, I’m fine. However, the former host of France 2 specifies: “However, it is not excluded that I will succeed one day. If the ending is too harsh, I won’t procrastinate for long. My life has not been a feast of champagne and caviar to end with a poor tasteless compote and a stale madeleine. The day when I can no longer eat, kiss and laugh, so hello! I am lucid, I see my buddies leaving, and then I arrive at 70 brooms even if, in the face, I still have 25” But for the time being, he no longer has dark thoughts.

Patrick Sébastien has however already prepared little by little for the day he will leave. He thus bought his concession in Martel, a town in the south-west of France where he has lived for several decades. “First to have my son’s body repatriated to me, and also because I have lived happily here for forty years,” explains Sébastien’s father, who died in a motorcycle accident when he was 19. “When the time comes, it will visit the village. I’m going to install meeting benches on each side of the grave so that people can sit down and chat. I ordered a nice blue stone. On the other hand, for the little foam man on the cross, they did not want to.
