Patrick Huard will host the Quebec version of LOL : Last One Laughing – renamed LOL: Who will have the last laugh? – expected on Amazon Prime Video later this year.
The concept of LOL : Last One Laughing Is simple. Ten well-known comedians find themselves in the same studio with the challenge not to laugh at the antics and jokes of their peers.
A first offense is worth to the offending candidate a warning, given in the form of a yellow card. The second results in elimination. The last comic remaining wins a sum of money, intended for an organization or charity of his choice.
This time, French-speaking comedians will enter the competition. Their identity remains to be revealed, but we already know that their adventures will be relayed in 240 countries and territories across the planet via Amazon Prime Video.
Patrick Huard, who will leave Tower of TVA next month, said he was “so excited” by this new project in a press release issued Tuesday by the video-on-demand service.
“You know that comedians are fueled by laughter, but what you may not know is that they are often real fans of others and that for them, not laughing is the torture. I’m also very happy to animate because I wouldn’t have a chance to last ten minutes! Especially with the gang of comedians who accepted the challenge. It’s going to be madness! » can we read.
Global phenomenon
This 100% Quebec version – and produced by Attraction (Live from the universe) – will arrive just months following the Canadian edition, hosted by Jay Baruchel, launched last month. The original Japanese concept has also been adapted in France, Brazil, Germany and Australia.
