Patrick Huard will leave Towerthe program where he has been leading frank and open discussions on all subjects for two years.
He announced it himself, Thursday, in the opening segment of the show, stressing that he wants to return to writing, directing and acting. His last animation will take place on April 7 and a new commander will take over next September.
Tower is a critical and ratings success, with 2.5 million viewers watching each week despite fierce competition from District 31in the 7 p.m. time slot.
“This project will have been an extraordinary human experience and will have allowed me to make many enriching encounters! I will leave with a huge baggage of new knowledge. Throughout the two seasons, the generosity, attentiveness and openness of my guests fascinated me. During each discussion, I also felt the public very close, as if they were sitting with us in the living room”, said Patrick Huard, who took part in the development of the concept of Tower.
“I will miss these daily meetings with my guests and viewers for sure, he continued. But following long reflections, I realized that I was bored of telling invented stories. It is therefore with a heavy heart, but a head full of ideas that I return to my great passions: writing, acting and directing. Thank you for so generously allowing our “living rooms” to merge every night. I will savor each of the upcoming shows until April 7th. We will meet once more soon, differently.”
Since Patrick Huard is “moving”, his condo is going to be put up for sale and we thought of the comedy real estate broker Happiness Karol-Ann Lapoynte-St-Jacques, brilliantly played by actress Monika Pilon, to find a buyer who, in effect, will become the new host of Tower. The visits have already started, so it’s to be continued.
