“Today I say that I am an actress who sings, not a singer who acts. I still like the no label”, is defined Patricia Saran to their 61 yearsthat model that in the ’80s generated an earthquake of controversy with the sensual of the jean Jordan recorded in a simple elevator. She knows that she hardly pronounces her name, those who lived through the time immediately remember her for that, and although she would prefer that she go for as many jobs, He doesn’t deny too much either.
“When the jean ad came out Jordan from the elevator I already worked with Gerardo Sofovich for two years on TV. What happened is that I exploded there, but I had already done almost ninety advertisements before, here in Argentina and around the world. In fact, that commercial was produced by me. The story began like this: I had to change my clothes, I was in a hurry and then it occurred to me to lock the elevator at the University of El Salvador where I was studying Law. When I went down, the teachers were protesting and waiting downstairs, they told me everything, I didn’t go for regarding three weeks, I saved myself from being expelled”, he recalls with a laugh.
At the same time, due to those things of fate, an agency contacted her with the owner of Jordan I wanted to produce a notice. “He was looking to carry out the same publicity that Susana Giménez had done for Cheetah and then I told him no, it seemed like a crude copy to me. I remembered regarding the faculty, I suggested that idea and they accepted. I recorded together with a friend who was an assistant director. We did it and I ended up winning the Platinum Pencil, which means all the agencies voted it the best ad. She remained as the most remembered and sensual of all times. Very recently an international agency called me to propose something, but I said no because today I am aiming for something else, for me was already”, he clarifies.
At 14, his first commercial
His first foray into occurred at the age of 14. “My parents had given me money to cut my hair and I went to Andrea Paparella’s, which was the best of the time. He proposed to me that if he cut it for me the other week in a fashion show, he would pay me, I accepted and that’s how I started. He saw me the people of Fiorucci, he hired me and I never stopped working. I was an actress, host, model, magazine cover and always very spiritual. My mother was a yoga teacher, I inherited that from her all my life. I like to meditate, be supportive, give some advice and help the people who write to me, rescue animals…”.
-Did you have fun “playing pretty”?
You know there came a time when you didn’t. When I realized that they called me for that, I said it just is. Because he had studied with Augusto Fernández, Julio Chávez, Lito Cruz and Luis Agustoni. They invited me to soap operas like They are loves but to be pretty, never to think. I dedicated myself to making programs of my own on cable such as Know how to choose, in Canal Metro. I spent ten years there doing interviews, I loved it. When I was studying theater with Luisina Brando, her husband, Juan José Jusid, sees me and she calls me to Where are you, love of my life, I can’t find you, but since I was driving and might not do everything, I did not participate. Yes I might do it questionable death. I always relied on training, that’s why I studied a lot of acting.”
“Sofovich is doing a casting”
His start on TV was by chance. “A friend told me: ‘Sofovich is doing a casting, come with me’. And I went. She was super produced and I was in jeans, simple. We arrived at Channel 13, there was a line that went around the block four times, there were thousands of women. We get a number and then a door opens and Gerardo appears. He tells me half with bad character: ‘You pass’. ‘I have nothing to do with it, I come to accompany my friend,’ I replied. ‘Didn’t you hear me?’ he insisted. ‘You didn’t listen to me,’ I replied. ‘Can you come in please! what do you do? You start on Saturday that I have a program. It’s not a question, it’s an order’, he raised the bet. It was like that, she liked to direct everything. I was in a relationship with a psychoanalyst, I didn’t know what he was going to say to me. I went to the program and the phones exploded, they hired me from Channel 13 and Gerardo got angry because he felt that they had bypassed him. He had to wait two years to hire me directly. He had intellectual respect for me. He scared me because he was very brave, LOL. She always said that he was going to make me a star.
They were four years together with Sofovich, but they were too intense: “He anticipated everything, it was like he guessed the future, a genius, the theme was shapes. When I advertised the elevator, he didn’t make it easy for me, got angryWe were separated for regarding fifteen years, until we met once more through an invitation to Susana’s program. He wanted me to drive Controversy in the Bar but with women It led me to be popular, I admit that. I am a good friend of Gustavo, Gerardo told me that I was going to marry him”.
His intimacy with Rodrigo
Today Patricia tells THE NATION who is dedicated to singing and writing his own songs. “I love it, it gives me pleasure, I compose with Mariana Molinero, an impressive professional. I sing regarding everything, I say what happens through the songs, which are always different ”, she emphasizes and adds:“ I am telling you that I wrote a song for Potro Rodrigo called Pure passionhow was he”.
How was your relationship with him?
A kid would call my house and my dad would tell me: ‘There is a certain Rodrigo who calls you very often.’ Once I answered, he told me that he called me from Córdoba, that he was a singer, that he wanted to see me and I met his father and him. He was a pendex, famous not far, yes divine, with long hair, we became intimate. He wanted to do with me a song by Ricardo Montaner called the girl in the elevator. I was famousbut I explained to him that I did not want to do the same as for JordanI felt that way. We still stay close. We saw each other often, he had me as a reference because I took care of him.
-Allow me to ask you at this point in the confession if something happened between you…
–LOLUntil she met me, Patricia Pacheco, his wife, believed that I was the lover and I I hated. Because he was talking regarding me. Later she came home, she met me and we became very good friends. He might have exploited that friendship and trust but nothing to do, as Graciela Alfano did at the time when she approached him. But it’s not my way of being, I just made him a song following he died.
Are you telling me the whole truth? It is time to make a revelation.
-I swear nothing happened, trust what I tell you. I remember that one night we met once more in a restaurant, he was with Fernando Olmedo, he sees me and comes to see me at the table. “You saw skinny that I arrived”, I remember that he told me with his classic big smile. I replied: ‘Watch out for the champion’s friends, don’t get dizzy’. I think he didn’t have the containment he needed. The song I made for him talks regarding that. that when I met him he was Pure passion, a whirlwind difficult to appease. When I mention friends of the champion, I’m not saying it because of Fernando, eh, he was divine. I knew El Negro, his father, a lot, he wanted to take me to do a season in Mar del Plata and I always said no.
Patricia insists on emphasizing that for all the jobs she faced in her artistic life, she prepared herself with professionalism: “That is why I do not like it Big Brother, where everyone wants to be famous at whatever it takes, I find it a shame. I understand the voyeurism, spy on someone else’s life, but everyone wants to succeed without content. I dedicated myself to the artistic because life presented me with that possibility. But before I had studied Law, I have three subjects left to be a lawyer. I always bet on effort. I was born in my field, in Monte Nieva, La Pampa, I went ahead of the delivery and then we were Flora, my mother, then I appeared and my mother searched for herself, there was no other person around. I come from a very Catholic family: my uncle was a bishop, I went to an English school, then I traveled to Switzerland to study for three years, and when I came back it was to get into the legal profession”.
Famous loves: “I went out with Arjona”
“I had very few men in my life, because they didn’t see me but rather the packaging,” she says without asking, and then the question regarding the international celebrities she went out with arises: “A few years ago they found out that I went out with Ricardo Arjona y Luis Miguel, but I had not counted. I never called the photographers to get fame, I took care of my privacy. I always went for the artistic, although I know that it sells. I met Arjona in Mar del Plata, doing theater with Marta González and Analía Gadé. I liked his music, I didn’t know his figure, how he was physically. One time I was having dinner with my dad and he walked into the restaurant. He approached me, asked me to speak, I didn’t recognize him, I swear. He sang a song for me, I asked him if he was also a fan of Arjona and he replied: ‘I am Arjona’. We went out, but I saw what it provoked in the girls and we didn’t continue.
-And what happened with Luismi?
-Something similar, but I don’t want to give details, excuse me. I’m just telling you something simple that has nothing to do with our privacy. Once I was in Punta del Este training with Daniel Tangona, some very strange guys showed up, wearing dark glasses in black vans. Daniel worried regarding me and wanted to leave. It was Luis Miguel who came to see me surrounded by bodyguards, for me it was natural, he did not magnify it. I was always very simple, I like to remember my origins in the countryside, that’s why I told you regarding my birth without a midwife or anything, just my mommy and me.
