A report from the Dignitaries Protection Division of the National Police warns that last Wednesday, July 13, a drone was detected flying over the house of the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavidezlocated in San Borja.
The document, to which Peru21 agreed, was signed on July 14 by the head of the Escort of Benavides, the largest PNP Javier Peña La Madrid.
Peña reported that at around 4:30 pm on July 13, the domestic worker of the Supreme Prosecutor detected the vehicle flying low over the garden of the house. On that same date, in the morningthe head of the Public Ministry reactivated the investigation of President Pedro Castillo for irregularities in the promotions of the Armed Forces.
Upon being informed by the worker, officer Luis Lama Bolívar approached the home and following inspecting the surrounding streets, he observed the white drone flying “for a period of 3 minutes” over the Army Barracks known as “Pentagonito” .
After that “it was lost in the distance to the north,” the report indicates. Major Peña said that he met with Héctor Salermo, a worker at the Municipality of San Borja, to consult him regarding the episode.
Salermo, according to the report, clarified that the drones of the municipality “are not the color of the drone that was visualized, the origin and purposes of said aerial vehicle being unknown.”
In the case of military promotions, in addition to Castillo, former presidential secretary Bruno Pacheco, now a fugitive, and former Defense Minister Walter Ayala are also included.
