Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa said that everyone must do everything possible to end the situation in Gaza. Permits will be given to Christians living in the Palestinian territories to allow them to visit Jerusalem to observe the liturgy.

“This is objectively intolerable. We have always faced various kinds of problems and even the economic-financial situation has always been very fragile, but there has never been a famine like this before,” he said describing the situation in Gaza in a recent interview with Italian television. TV2000.

Everyone, religious, political and social communities, must do everything possible to end this situation.

“Because until now, there should have been a party or country that might bring order. Now there is no longer a party or country that plays this role, and we have to do it ourselves. I don’t know if, how, or when this can happen,” he explained, as quoted VaticanNewsSunday (24/3)

Easter in wartime

Speaking days before the start of Holy Week, Pizzaballa expressed his assurance that permits would be granted to Christians living in the Palestinian territories to allow them to visit Jerusalem to observe the liturgy.

“We will get the permission. We persisted, saying that since they had given permission to Muslims for Ramadan, they should also give it to Christians for Easter. “Even if the number is smaller, we will have several thousand permits for both Palm Sunday and Easter,” he explained. (M-3)
