With a wonderful celebration that took place on Friday, June 28 at the Educational Activities Park of the Municipal Beach, the winter season for the departments of the Dance Municipality of Patras closed. The celebration started with the children’s departments who made a short presentation leaving the mark of intentions for what they are preparing for September.
On the 11th and 12th of September, at the “Ichthyoskala” multi-purpose cultural events venue, there will be a two-day show in which all departments will participate under the title “the future of yesterday”.
The continuation was given to the “Psathades” Orchestra from Naoussa. Dimitris Psathas with the wonderful sound of Zournas, Vangelis Psathas on the tambourine, Nikos Dragoumanos clarinet – soprano saxophone – Zournas, Christos Karvounaris accordion and Nikos Digas trumpet conveyed in their unique experiential way authentic sounds from Naoussa, Roumlouki, Goumenissa , Almopia without omitting Thrace, Asia Minor and the Peloponnese.
Fun and entertainment were combined with knowledge, contact, teaching with sounds and dances from regions that leave their special imprint on the folk tradition of the Greek area.
The Municipal Councilor and head of the Dance Department, Christos Giannopoulos, thanked their parents for the trust they show in the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras and those who participated and watched the event.
He also conveyed the greetings and wishes of the Mayor Kostas Peletidis for a good and creative summer, he thanked the children by addressing a big thank you to the Teachers, Cadets and staff of the Dance Club who, as “flag bearers” of amateur creation, train, create, fight, dedicating the their free time without any material reward looking for partners and not clients, expecting a better tomorrow.
He also thanked the vice-mayor of culture and Vice-Mayor Apostolis Aggelis for the cooperation and for making the event possible. The Municipal Councilor and manager of the educational activities park George Magiakis for his help. Finally, he thanked the people, the sound technicians and all the attendees who respected and helped to protect the space by delivering it without a single trash.
