Patras: The “Polyphonic” Conservatory’s tribute concert to Vassilis Tsitsanis was a great success – 2024-07-10 04:13:44

Last Saturday, in the packed courtyard of the ROYAL Theatre, the concert of the “POLYPHONIKI” CONSERVATORY took place, a tribute to the great folk bard-creator, VASILIS TSITSANIS, with the general title “Vassilis Tsitsanis, 40 years later”.

The concert was attended by an orchestra led by the professor of the School of Traditional Music, (class of folk instruments of the Conservatory), George Papageorgiou, who had overseen the orchestrations of the concert, the professor of the School of Monodia (class of Contemporary Song, also of the Conservatory), Chryssa Pantazopoulou and with the general artistic supervision of the Administrative Director of the Conservatory, Efis Kavvadias, in a program of the most beautiful songs of the Trikalin composer.

Conservatory teachers Giorgos Papageorgiou (bouzouki), Chrysa Pantazopoulou (singing), Albena Penkova (piano), Teti Zerva (mandolin), Christos Tsailakis (guitar) and Nikos Skeparnias (guitar) also participated.

The students participated in the orchestra:
Accordion: Yiannis Milias, Bouzouki: Fotis Zervas – Panagiotis Mantzios – Vassilis Petroulis – Nikos Siaterlis.

Works by the composer were performed by the students: Nadia Zerva, Ilias Maniatis, Ioanna Prokalamou, Paulina Stavrianaki, Konstantinos Stavropoulos, Theoni Tzamakou, Chrysa Fotopoulou and Maria Hadjikonstantoglou.
