The painting exhibition of Panagiotis Stathopoulos ends on Thursday 11/07/2024, at 8 pm, at Polyedros, in Patras. The exhibition won the public’s attention with a large attendance.

The second solo exhibition of Panagiotis Stathopoulos was an inspiration for the children in the educational activities they participated in under the guidance of the artist. For those who have not seen it, it is an opportunity to visit it in these last days.

Works from the last five years are presented, most of them painted with dry pastels. But some ink drawings and some large watercolors are also included.

The projects are divided into three sections: Learning the Time, Wild Gardens and Ephemeral Towers.

In the first section, Learning the Time, through simplified elements that are repeated in different compositions and color combinations, an elementary narrative emerges.

In the second, Wild Gardens, the images seem exuberant and complex, compositions with plant elements created through a long process of simplification and sculpting.

Ephemeral towers take their theme from the cheerful indifference of children’s play to permanent and imposing structures. Towers are built with gusto and speed only to be torn down immediately followingwards with the same gusto and speed and to give way to the void, where another project, a new life, will fit.

Panagiotis Stathopoulos was born in 1978 in Patras. He studied Archeology in Ioannina (1996-2000) and sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts, in the workshop of Giorgos Lappa (2001-2006). Since 2010 he has been working as a Visual Arts teacher. He lives permanently in Patras. In January 2019, he held his first solo exhibition at Polyhedros, in Patras.
